Standing up for eight hours, carrying paper, cutting canvas, sharpening pencils for children, and answering the same question about titanium white ninety times a month — cheerfully, because for the person asking it is the first time.
Insurance, a rota published a month ahead, the staff discount, free use of the studio outside class hours, and time off for your own shows. We have never asked anyone to work a private view unpaid.
