Who you will meet
The shop floor rotates, so you will not always get the same person. All of them can answer the paper question.
- Marina GalanopoulouFounderPrintmaker, ASKT and the RCA. Opened the basement in 2014. Still does the ordering.
- Antonis MaravelakisGalleryPainter, former ASKT instructor. Runs the programme and hangs every show.
- Sofia VatistaStudioScreen-printer, trained in Lisbon. Runs the press, the bindery and the workshops.
- Nikos AlexiouShop floorWatercolourist. The person to ask about paper and about sizing.
- Dimitra RoussouShop floorSculptor. Knows the clay, the wax and which panel will not warp.
- Petros LyrasFramingCuts and joins everything on the bench. Twenty-two years at it.
- Katerina MavriShop floorIllustrator. Runs the teen programme on Saturday mornings.
- Stelios PanouOrdersPacks every parcel. If a sheet arrives creased it is because a courier sat on it.
- Anna VlasiShop floorOil painter. Will talk about cadmium red for forty minutes if you let her.
The 30%
Everyone here gets 30% off supplies, uncapped. It costs us margin and it is the best training budget we have — you cannot recommend a paper you have never stretched.
